Weller Park is a classic beautiful neighborhood park that is always bustling with laughter and children. It’s not too big but it’s not too small.

Apparently, Green Acres is new to the “Blueberry Picking” fun and they are planning to plant more crops aimed towards the seasonal U-pick crowd, but we found them and had so much fun in July… picking blueberries. It was $10 for 3 quarts, and we drove across the street to the fields of blueberry bushes where we spent our morning hunting for the bluest and ripest blueberries to pick.

Recreated grasslands, wetlands and wooded savannas lie along the Discovery trail leading to the paved Bonelick Creek Trail where you’ll literally see a herd of real Buffalo. This park blooms all through the months of Spring and Summer, and changes into a world of new colors in the Fall. When we want to go for “a walk in the park”, we enjoy the great outdoors at this state park. The trails provide lots of shade and lots of level walking ground great for all ages.

Eden Park is one of the most beautiful “vistas” or views of Cincinnati. It is magestic to sit on the wall and look down at the Ohio River, the Big Mac bridge, Newport, and Kentucky. It feels like a view taken from some European painting.

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is literally one of the top zoos in the nation. To this day, I do not think that my kids have seen the entire zoo. It is huge, beautiful, and always alive with interactive shows, feeding stations, and new exhibits.

Sharon Woods is a huge Hamilton County park which could not possibly be enjoyed and admired in just one day. For outdoor fun, there is the harbor with the extensive modern playground, mini-water world with fountain sprays, rental paddle boats and canoes, and a covered pavillion for picnicing. For indoor fun, there is the “Treehouse” or Adventure Station in the Sharon Center, as well as educational nature displays and the tunnel fish tank. The Heritage Village is also on the premises of Sharon Woods.
