This is a Cincinnati favorite and always will be. Skyline Chili is the #1 place to sit indoors, get fast food service, and enjoy mini-hot dogs called Cheese Coney’s. A Cheese Coney is Skyline’s classic specially-made hot dog in a steamed bun, with mustard, covered with their original, secret-recipe chili, diced onions and a mound of shredded cheddar cheese. You’ll need to order two or more cheese coneys and a side of french fries to fill up, but this familiar comfort food is good to the last bit. Although they do not offer complimentary crayons and coloring placemat for the kids, they do offer oreo cookies and lolipops when the kids are finished.
History provided by Wikipedia: Skyline Chili is a chain of chili restaurants based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 1949 by Greek immigrant Nicholas Lambrinides, Skyline Chili is named for the view of Cincinnati’s skyline that Lambrinides could see from his first restaurant (which has since been demolished), opened in the section of town now known as Price Hill. It is also the “official chili” of many local professional sports teams and venues, including the Cincinnati Reds, Columbus Blue Jackets and the Kings Island theme park. [MORE]
