The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is literally one of the top zoos in the nation. To this day, I do not think that my kids have seen the entire zoo. It is huge, beautiful, and always alive with interactive shows, feeding stations, and new exhibits. They have animals of all sizes from the huge manatees, lions, polar bears, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, rhinos, and black bears to the cute penquins or snakes, bats, and the incredible insect world building with elaborate ant tunnels. There is an entire Children’s discovery area with a playground, merry-go-round, and farm animal petting area. However, the Cincinnati Zoo Train is the ride which has all visitors lining up for. It travels around the entire Zoo and center duck pond in just a few minutes and it is always the grand highlight of our day at the Zoo.

The kid’s Nana & Papa buy them a fantastic yearly membership every year for MY (Mom’s) birthday which includes admission for our family and one guest, free parking, and free train & carousel rides. (THANK YOU!) We literally visit the Zoo 2 or 3 times a month nearly year round (I think this past year we did not go during the months of January and February, but all other months, you’ll find us there.) My kids have feed the giraffes carrots, seen an elephant smash a pumpkin, gone trick-or-treating from exhibit to exhibit, seen bird shows, meet zoo-keepers, held snakes, ridden at the front of the Zoo train and also at the back, seen the festival lights when the Zoo sparkles in the night of winter, and feed the birds nectar. My kids love the Cincinnati Zoo any day, any season, any time!

Their website says, “Voted the #1 Family attraction in Cincinnati. Zagat Survey ranked the world famous Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden the #1 attraction in Cincinnati and one of the top zoos in the nation. It has also been recognized by Parents Magazine as #7 of the “Top 10 Best Zoos for Kids” in the nation and by Child Magazine as one of “The 10 Best Zoos for Kids.”
