A friend of mine once said, “If you are looking for a little warmth in winter, go to the Krohn Conservatory.” We have enjoyed many winter and summer days here, walking through this gorgeous huge glass green-house filled with all kinds of plants from Florida palm trees to bonzi and orchids. It’s the perfect place to leave your winter jacket at the door and take in a breathe of fresh air mixed with the perfumes of nature.

Typical Day: We bring our lunch to have outside on the picnic tables, sometimes a notebook to draw the things we see, and create our own scavenger hunt reading the tiny signs describing the hundreds of plants that create this oasis in several designated rooms. They have different themed displays throughout the year, and we’ve enjoyed so many of them including the Red, White, and Blue Washington Monuments, as well as the unbelieveable butterfly show.
